Description:
This painting represents my great-grandfather, (Son) Tommy.
Tommy’s Dreaming was the Red Kangaroo, known as Mungudoo. Within him, he carried the knowledge and stories passed down over thousands of years from many elders and grandparents before him. He shared this deep cultural knowledge with the children and families of today. Tommy’s artistry was also expressed in his carvings, particularly the intricate patterns he burnt into traditional shields, each design telling part of his story and identity.
